Because honestly nice consistent photos of PCBs and PCBAs are just extremely helpful for documentation and it shouldn't be that hard to set up equipment to take nice photos quickly.
- Need a way of quickly and precisely positioning a phone camera
- camera needs to be perpendicular to the board to yield flat edges and good focus
- it would be nice to align the camera axis with the board axis so you don't have to rotate in software, but not necessary
- Camera should be kinda far from the PCB to mitigate perspective distortion effects
- Background should be an appropriate color for high contrast.
